MPS Services

Michigan Payroll Service provides a safe and easy process to share information necessary to run your payroll.

What to expect from MPS:

MPS will set up a secure share drive for your company that you can attach files of employee information, timesheet tables, and change forms. Initial file set up for all employees is a one time fee of $50. Even if you are changing over from another provider, we will incorporate that into the one time fee.

MPS will keep your employee records updated at no cost. You can send in changes as needed with updated W4 forms for your employees or change forms for other updates.

MPS will run your payroll on any cycle without a cycle fee. We only charge $5 per check. Example: If you have only 2 payroll checks run that week, the fee is $10.

MPS can process payroll garnishments and send supporting check information through the secure share drive. There is a $5 fee for each garnishment payment to process.

MPS will send you the paycheck information for each payroll run through the secure share drive, then the small business writes the check to give with the check detail.

MPS will give a breakdown of all tax liabilities per payroll run for the small business to make tax payments in small increments.

MPS will produce the federal and state tax reports quarterly for a fee of $25, and attach the reports to your secure share drive. End of year reporting including W2’s and State and Federal forms will be $50 fee for both state and federal. If the small business would like MPS to do the online reporting there is an additional fee of $25 per quarter and $25 for the annual reports.

MPS can do your Michigan Unemployment and Federal Unemployment reporting for $25 per quarter.

What is expected from the small business:

The Small Business will need to delegate a payroll contact with an email.

The Small Business will need to give access to online accounts and sign a delegation agreement for MPS to do so on their behalf if they wish that service.

The Small Business must provide all employee information through a W4 and a change form. If there was payroll run with a previous service, all year to date information will be needed from the previous provider, on gross pay, federal and state taxes withheld, and any other payroll deductions.

The Small Business will need to supply all employee change information on a timely basis. We will do our best to incorporate all changes prior to the next payroll run as long as information is submitted prior to time entry.

The Small Business will supply the summary timesheet for payroll entry a minimum of 3 business days prior to check printing requirements. If there is a holiday that makes this time frame shorter we may ask for timesheets in advance to offset the time crunch. We will do our best to work with your current timeframes.

The Small Business will need to print their own checks and give each employee the check detail that MPS sends.

The Small Business, depending on the tax reporting service you select, may have to submit their own tax reports online, or enter the information online, as well as make their online payments. MPS will not be making any tax payments on behalf of the Small Business.
